Gardening Sand
Sand is a useful ingredient in garden soil. A quality sand is helpful for adding drainage ability to soil. The small sand particles aid in the moving of water away from plants and trees.
If you are thinking of putting some sand in your garden soil, It is a good idea to add sand to your garden if the plants do not like too much water. Trees like palms and pines, which do not enjoy water saturated soil do well to have a fair amount of sand in the soil around the root ball.
Sand is a common addition to the soils of Manito Park gardens.
