Loam
Noun.
A quality blend of organic materials usually consisting of sand, clay and compost. Loam is a commonly used as quality gardening soil.
The area where the Duncan Garden is located in Manito Park originally contained a large amount of this high quality soil. Many cubic yards of loam were removed from the Duncan Garden site and distributed to other gardens and parks around Spokane Washington.
